Hello world! (I couldn’t come up with a more original title for my first post, so sue me)
Someone asked me recently what TV shows I was following, and after giving her the full list (Dexter, Homeland, House, Hawaii 5-0, NCIS, The Big Bang Theory, How I met Your Mother, American Horror Story, Bones, Glee, Terra Nova, I Hate My Teenage Daughter, Once Upon A TIme, Pan-Am, Modern Family, Castle, The Walking Dead, Grimm, Prime Suspect, Top Gear, Naruto, Bleach, Weeds, True Blood) I realized I was wastig a lot of it (yes, my social life is pretty much non existent). Thanks to my friend Sarah and her post about Jeff Blankenburg’s blog who suggests that you be a creator instead of a consumer, I finally got the motivation to start my own blog. Eventually I’ll talk a little about food, cars, video games, programming, maybe vent a little, but today I just have a suggestion of my own: be silly.
Lately I’ve found that being silly makes life more enjoyable, I may not have it as tough as other people but it has taken a burden off my chest. I don’t really give a rat’s ass what people think of me, so I plan to enjoy myself as much as I can.
I was often told that people in Cleveland were very friendly, which is true for the most part, but they seem to lack sense of humor. I walked into Giant Eagle today sporting my new winter hat and all I found was people either giving me nasty looks or pretending they didn’t see me. The same thing happens when I drive with the top down and Steel Panther is on my iPod, for some reason not a lot of people find the phrase “come on pretty baby suck my balls all night” as entertaining as I do.
So if you live in the Cleveland area, and you see someone wearing this hat and\or singing about a Girl from Oklahoma, I encourage you to walk up to me and say hello. I may be crazy, but I don’t bite.
